Anne Grant opened her traveling art exhibit “Shmattes” at the Brody Jewish Center Friday. Grant, who received her degree in Jewish Studies from the University in 2012, presents viewers with a collection of t-shirts to show different representations of cultural Jewish identity in modern America.

Fiction writer Thomas Pierce and poet Ansel Elkins shared their latest works at The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative earlier this month. Located across the Belmont Bridge, the nonprofit organization offers a multitude of exhibits and encourages emerging artists, writers and performers to share their talents with the community. The third Friday of each month, The Bridge hosts its free Reading Series, featuring a prose and a poetry writer who share excerpts from their work.

For students hunting for a good laugh at the University, Amuse Bouche has the performance to lift you out of the mid-semester slump. Their improv show, “But, is it art?”, in Observatory Hill Dining Hall Forum last Friday provided a hilarious start to the weekend. The long form comedy group performed three acts, using audience suggestions to create a truly unpredictable show.
