Virginia has dominated in outdoor events this year, which all led to four incredible days at the NCAA Championship.
Ten individual men’s and women’s competitors, as well as two relay teams, were able to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which are underway through June 12.
The Cavaliers picked up multiple individual titles throughout the weekend in the first ACC Championship meet held since 2019.

This was a huge weekend for Virginia, as multiple Cavaliers broke records, with one even meeting the qualifying standard for the U.S. Olympic Trials.
This weekend was full of dominant performances from the Cavalier men and women alike.
The Virginia men and women’s track and field teams travelled to Blacksburg, Va. to run in the Virginia Tech Invitational — the first meet of the 2020 season.
Lananna’s impact is already being felt by the runners. The active role he hopes to play in daily workouts and competition preparation seems to be making a difference thus far.
Virginia Athletics announced Wednesday that Nicole Freitag was named assistant coach to the Virginia cross country and track and field teams by Vin Lananna, the recently-hired director of track and field and cross country and associate athletic director.
Former president of the USA Track and Field, Lananna was put on temporary administrative leave in February 2018, as the Department of Justice launched an investigation into the bids of several international athletic championships.
The Virginia track and field team competed at the 2019 Division I Outdoor NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas, from June 5-8.
Out of the fourteen male Virginia competitors, six advanced to the NCAA Championships. On the women’s side, 3 out of 15 Cavaliers advanced.
