A world of gymnastics, intense movements and flowing silks exists here in Charlottesville, thanks to the University’s Aerial Dance Club. Since the group’s initial founding in 2012, the small club with a strong sense of community has masterfully weaved aerial into the fabric of the University dance scene. Through practices, end of semester showcases and, on occasion, performances on South Lawn, the club beautifully showcases their unique and intricate artform on Grounds.

Powerful pink retrofuturistic imagery surrounds Nicki Minaj on the cover of her fifth album, “Pink Friday 2,” her first album since 2018, released Friday. Minaj’s fans — the Barbz — took this spunky album cover art and let it blossom into a popular fan-created generative AI fantasy world called “Gag City,” an idea that Minaj herself has taken advantage of to promote the album on X. The anticipation of this album drop only furthered when its Oct. 20 release date was pushed back a few weeks to Nov. 17 and then again to Dec. 8 — but the result may have fallen a little short.

Dimly lit gray walls enclose “Radioactive Inactives,” a striking photography exhibit currently displayed at The Fralin Museum of Art. The series of photos was originally created by artists Patrick Nagatani and Andrée Tracey from 1987 to 1988, as they meshed their artistic talent to reveal poignant messages about the darker realities of the modern world.
