After a 16-12 loss to Virginia Tech in the final game of the regular season, the Virginia women’s lacrosse team fell to the No. 4 seed in the ACC tournament beginning Thursday. The Cavaliers (9-8, 4-3 ACC) will play the No. 5 seed Notre Dame (9-8, 3-4 ACC).

The No. 17 Cavaliers (9-7, 4-2 ACC) could not handle No. 4 JMU (14-1, 4-0 CAA) in their final home match of the season losing 15-10. JMU came into the game as the fifth best scoring offense in the country as well as tied for the fourth best defense. After a convincing victory over Louisville over the weekend that stopped a four game skid, Virginia could not pull off an upset against the fourth top five team they have faced this season.

The No. 11 Virginia women’s lacrosse team traveled to Annapolis on Wednesday to take on No. 13 Navy and dropped its fourth game in a row, 16-13.

The No. 6 women’s lacrosse team fell 15-8 Wednesday to No. 2 Maryland, the defending champion. With the win, Maryland (11-1, 2-0 Big Ten) continues its home winning that extends back to March 10, 2012.
