When Thomas Jefferson founded the University, he envisioned an academic village where students, professors and the like could interact with each other outside of a classroom. Although the University has received many renovations and modifications throughout the years, this “Jeffersonian” ideal still exists thanks to the Lawn, the Range and the Pavilions.

With lines out the door, the old In the Nood location often saw students patiently waiting to use their Plus Dollars and meal swipes on noodles and sushi. This fall, this section of Newcomb Hall will keep the lines but lose the meals as University Dining opens its second on-Grounds Starbucks location.

On Nov. 14, Forbes released its reputed “30 Under 30” list for 2018, recognizing a group of young entrepreneurs excelling in various projects and ventures. This year, five University alumni made the lists, including Muzzammil Zaveri, Sam Bernstein, Chelsea Follett, Jeremy Martin and Kevin Eisenfrats.

Among the numerous accomplished professors at the University, there is a certain professor with a particular passion for politics. Associate professor and associate chair for the Department of Politics, Paul Freedman is someone who has extensively explored the connections between politics and the media through his contributions to various journals and his research.
