Dr. Shaun Murphy is the kind of man who hates white lies. He’s a sharp-edged, straight forward thinker who rarely laughs and can’t quite understand what it means to flirt. But on the operating table, away from the distractions of senseless social conventions, Dr. Murphy shows himself to be a puzzle-solver and a fearless savant of anatomy and the human condition.

Unfortunately, “Murder On the Orient Express” sounds more fun than it is. Based on the 1934 Agatha Christie novel of the same name, the film had no good reason to fail. It had a stellar cast, stayed relatively close to the novel and made important changes to reflect the social and racial issues of the time. But it just didn’t work.

“The Snowman” is not about a killer snowman. Contrary to what the trailer might suggest, there are absolutely no supernatural elements or undertones in this movie. From the beginning, it is disappointingly clear that the serial killer is an actual person who leaves snowmen at the site of their murders.

The “Full House” theme song faithfully asked audiences “Whatever happened to predictability?” from 1987-1995, but the episode following the song always seemed to answer.
