The No. 17 Virginia baseball team outlasted the Longwood Lancers Wednesday, 6-4. The Cavaliers scored two runs in the eighth inning to win a game in which both starting pitchers lasted six innings and reach a record of 28-9.
The No. 11 Virginia tennis team will travel to Williamsburg today to take on William & Mary in their final non-conference match of the season. The Cavaliers are 13-5 overall and are a perfect 4-0 in the ACC this season. The Tribe is 9-11 overall and coming off a loss to Texas A&M.
The No. 11 William & Mary Tribe will play host to the Virginia lacrosse team today in a game between in-state rivals. The Cavaliers are 6-2 this season and are coming off a close loss to No. 8 North Carolina.
Virginia's cross country teams traveled to Cary, N.C. this weekend to compete in the Great American Cross Country Festival. The unranked men's team managed to take second place overall, finishing as the runner-up to No. 16 William and Mary. The women's team, also unranked, took third behind No. 1 Duke and No. 6 BYU, winner of two recent national championships.
