Earlier this month, the University Dance Club presented its spring showcase at the Paramount Theater, which was appropriately entitled “Bringing Sexy Back.” The entirely student-choreographed performance included impressive dances from a wide variety of genres including tap, ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop.

April 7 was a sad day for many U.Va. girls. The woman responsible for all those brightly colored dresses seen around Grounds— Lilly Pulitzer — passed away. The socialite-turned-founder of Lilly Pulitzer, Inc., died in her Palm Beach, Florida home at the age of 81.

Athletic competition shows featuring “celebrities” — or at least people producers think are celebrities — are nothing new. ABC’s wildly popular Dancing with the Stars is in its 16th season and FOX’s DWTS-inspired Skating with Celebrities premiered in 2006. This year, ABC revamped its own genre, taking celebrities off the stage and throwing them into the pool on Splash.

Entitled Preachers’ Daughters, this new Lifetime program follows three teenage girls and the challenges they face growing up as pastors’ children.

I had no idea what to expect when I first attended a performance of The Vagina Monologues, a collection of monologues dedicated completely to — you guessed it — vaginas. What I found, however, was a delightful show that kept me entertained from beginning to end.
