Virginia squash enjoyed successes, both tangible and intangible over the weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships in Charlottesville at its own McArthur Squash Center. The No. 5 men’s team (13-3, 4-1 MASC) competed in the Holley Cup, winning their fifth title in seven years, while the No. 5 women’s team (11-4, 4-1 MASC) fell in the final of the Gaynor Cup.

It was a weekend of clinical accuracy for Virginia squash as both the men's and women's teams showcased why they remain fixed in the nation's top tier. The No. 5 Cavalier men (10-3, 0-0, ACC) traveled to Annapolis, Md. for a neutral faceoff against the No. 19 Western Ontario (2-6, 0-0, OUA), where they executed a flawless 9-0 sweep. The next day, the No. 6 Virginia women (9-3, 0-0, ACC) came out on top over No. 15 Georgetown (4-6, 0-0, Big East) with a 7-2 victory in Washington, D.C.

Back at Boar’s Head Sports Club after a win over No. 12 Columbia Friday, No. 2 Virginia welcomed Vanderbilt for its second to last matchup before the ITA Team Indoor Championships Sunday afternoon. The match doubled as a homecoming for Vanderbilt head coach Scott Brown, whose tenure in Charlottesville spanned more than a decade and coincided with one of the most dominant stretches in program history. Extending their undefeated season, the Cavaliers (6-0, 0-0 ACC) took down the Commodores (5-2, 0-0 SEC) 6-1 in a dual that ultimately lasted over three hours.
