This semester, the Peer Led Learning program added two new courses to its program — Introduction to Biology and Organic Chemistry. Students and peer coaches have already experienced success with both offerings, prompting P2L to consider even more additions.
The Board of Visitors’ Advancement Committee met Friday from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Rotunda to hear the fundraising and campaign progress report, which included that 2022 has marked the second-highest fundraising year in the history of the University.
The Class of 2025 is nearing the end of their first year of college — as the year wraps up, students spoke about the struggles of adjusting to college workloads amidst changing public health guidelines. First-year students were the second class to begin their time at the University during the COVID-19 pandemic, most having finished their last year and a half of high school in a masked and hybrid learning environment.
Each year since 1981, the Carter G. Woodson Institute for African American and African Studies has welcomed a collection of pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellows into the institute’s Residential Fellows program. This fall, seven scholars will set roots in Charlottesville to begin the two-year program.
In early March, students enjoyed a full week off of classes for spring break. While historically spring break is a University standard, the week-long break followed last year’s “break days” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
