Republican Denver Riggleman, a candidate for the Fifth Congressional District, spoke to about 20 supporters at the Wood Ridge Farms brewery in Nelson County Sunday evening in an effort to mobilize voters before Tuesday’s midterm elections. Riggleman drew extensively on his experience as a small business owner and rejection of political elitism as key components of his campaign.

The Honor Committee met Sunday evening to discuss the upcoming Bicentennial report and announced that the Committee has delivered two not guilty verdicts to students in the College of Arts and Sciences. The first was found not guilty on four counts of cheating, while the second was acquitted on two counts.

In an event at Old Cabell Hall Sunday afternoon, students and community members discussed the history and repercussions of sexual assault at the University. Entitled “Rolling Stone Wasn’t the Beginning: A History of Sexual Violence at UVA,” the event was the capstone presentation concluding this year’s “Wellness Week” — a week of dialogue at the University centered around student wellbeing and health, including discussion around sexual assault awareness.

During an event in Old Cabell Hall Saturday, the day after his inauguration as the University’s ninth president, Jim Ryan shared his story of how he met his biological mother for the first time. At the event, entitled “Double Take: Stories that Make you Think Twice,” Ryan and nine other University faculty, staff and students shared personal stories with a few hundred attendees in an effort to express a “spectrum of diverse identities and experiences.”
