The Virginia men’s soccer team captured the ACC Tournament title Sunday, defeating Clemson 3-1. Three second half goals propelled the Cavaliers (17-1-1, 6-1-1 ACC) to victory — their first ACC championship since 2009. The win earned Virginia the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history.

Coming off a pair of losses last weekend against Tennessee, the Virginia swimming and diving teams won in convincing fashion against Wisconsin in their first meet at the Aquatic and Fitness Center this season. The No. 4 Cavalier women defeated the Badgers 193-124, while the No. 13 Virginia men won 192-120.

The now-No. 1 ranked team in the nation — the current ranking for Virginia women’s soccer as well — has won its first nine games of the season for the first time in Coach George Gelnovatch’s 24-year tenure.
