Love doctor, matchmaker, unlicensed therapist, quasi astrologist. These are some of the unofficial titles I’ve embraced during my four years serving The Cavalier Daily’s Life section.

Like the farm-to-table menu it boasts, Tavern & Grocery, located at 333 West Main Street, is considered a classic among Charlottesville residents and University students alike. This year, the tried and true restaurant participated in Charlottesville’s Restaurant Week. I stopped by during the week to experience Tavern & Grocery’s special menu for the occasion, which comes with the choice of an appetizer, entree and dessert for a set price of $45. Needless to say, I found the restaurant, service and meal to be wonderfully satisfying and a jewel of the Charlottesville restaurant scene — no matter your taste, they have something for everyone.

This is a really tricky situation for many reasons. He is a friend and you do not want to lose your friendship with him. That is scary. It is also natural that you would want to make your friend happy, but what he wants might be at odds with your happiness. That can be confusing.

1. How do I heal from a breakup without closure?

When pursuing relationships, social anxiety can be tough to contend with — especially when it comes to meeting new people or passing by someone you think is cute. I don’t mean care in the sense that you don’t have loving, supportive people in your life. I mean regarding those passing by at a party — they’re not looking at you. Instead, they’re likely too busy being concerned about themselves, their image and their own “scaries” to consider yours.

1. How can you help your partner when they are struggling with their mental health?

This is tough. There are a lot of elements you could be referring to here, and unfortunately there’s no quick solution or advice that could necessarily mend this situation. However, the foundation for all conflict and resolution of a relationship begins with communication. At the very least, you both need to be on the same page about this. What has she done to suggest she is less “into” your relationship? Do you mean you’re putting more effort into the relationship than she is? Have you discussed your feelings and anxieties surrounding the relationship together?

1. I’ve liked one of my best friends for years now, but I’m not sure if she shares romantic feelings for me. How do I escape the so-called “friend zone?” Is it possible to be more than friends? Should I tell her how I feel? I don’t want to make things awkward.
