David Burd, better known by his stage name of Lil Dicky, released his debut album on July 31st. For those who don’t know of Lil Dicky: the rapper was popularized thanks to the viral music video for his song “Ex Boyfriend,” and for several other videos that followed.

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” is perhaps one of the best spy films to date, delivering intense action alongside a surprisingly good deal of comedy. Don’t expect a serious spy flick like Daniel Craig in “James Bond” or Robert Ludlum in “Jason Bourne.” “Kingsman” often pokes fun at itself as well like classic spy movies — even subtly breaking the fourth wall in a few scenes. It has the occasional dry humor of Bond films, too, as well as the sort of crude humor that a younger audience will find very funny.

The season three premiere of Fox series “The Following” continues the series’ new take on crime shows. Until now, the show focused on a cult following of the serial killer Joseph Carroll. While this storyline mostly came to a close with the end of season two, the general premise of tracking down a serial killer with such a cult following continues into season three.

“Hollow City,” the second novel in Ransom Riggs’ best selling series, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children,” continues to please its readers as well as those jumping into its universe for the first time. The novel picks up immediately where its predecessor leaves off, just as the eponymous children begin their quest to heal their recently recovered mentor. While the story is a direct continuation of its parent novel, those who have not read the first book will still be able to enjoy it without feeling lost.

JJ Grey and Mofro open their newest album “Ol’ Glory” with an upbeat, toe-tapping melody. As the instrumental introduction of first track “Everything is a Song” transitions into JJ Grey’s voice, a certain soulful passion rings, uncommon in today’s music. The song continues into the lyrics “So now, everywhere I look, I smile,” which put a positive spin on life.
