Thus far in the young fall season, the No. 2 Virginia women’s soccer team has utterly dominated every team on its schedule. The Cavaliers (6-0, 0-0 ACC) are among the most balanced teams in the nation in terms of scoring ability and defensive proficiency thanks to a roster brimming with talent from top to bottom. For all the excitement the team has generated on the pitch, Virginia recently got an additional burst of excitement when junior midfielder Morgan Brian scored her first goal with the United States Women’s National Team in a 7-0 win against Mexico last Tuesday.

The No. 5 Virginia women’s soccer team added two more blowout victories to its resume this weekend, closing non-conference play with a perfect 6-0 record for the first time since 2004. The Cavaliers outscored Rutgers and Seton Hall 9-0 to win their two games in the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic championship held in Charlottesville.

The No. 18 Virginia women’s tennis team (13-7, 6-1 ACC) has been virtually unstoppable in recent weeks, going 10-1 since losing to third-ranked Texas A&M. Success has not come easy for the Cavaliers, though, as injuries have threatened to derail their stellar performance. The most notable loss for Virginia came in standout freshman Maci Epstein’s ankle injury, which forced Virginia coach Mark Guilbeau to shuffle his lineup around.

The Blue Devils were able to halt the streaking Cavaliers’ (10-7, 4-1 ACC) five-match winning streak by a tight 4-3 score, but Virginia quickly rebounded to knock off the nation’s top-ranked squad 4-3 and trample North Carolina Central 6-0 the next day.

The No. 32 Virginia women’s tennis team continued to dominate this weekend, easily defeating No. 72 Boston College and No. 55 Virginia Tech to stretch its win streak to five. Virginia (8-6, 3-0 ACC) cruised to a 6-1 victory against Boston College Friday before earning bragging rights over its Hokie rivals Saturday, again winning 6-1.
