I am slightly intimidated by women’s soccer fans. You’re hard as nails and your morning routine includes chugging a celsius and hitting the gym to outlift every first-year boy within a five mile radius.
On March 16, 2020, a Charlottesville resident tested positive for the novel coronavirus. It was the first confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in the piedmont region.
The zero new cases in students or faculty and staff over the weekend followed a total of 31 new cases between Feb. 13 and Saturday.
Hospitalization rates have remained relatively constant over the last two weeks — the seven-day average for new hospitalizations was 12.14 on Feb. 23 and was 11.71 as of Thursday. 
There are a total of 104 individuals currently hospitalized for COVID-19 at U.Va. Health.
There are 221 active cases of COVID-19 within the University community, 110 of which are students and 111 of which are faculty and staff.
On Jan. 28, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyared issued an advisory opinion holding that public universities cannot mandate COVID-19 vaccination requirements for students as a condition of enrollment.
