The 1,539 total cases during the spring semester — despite being only four weeks into the term — is likely to soon pass the 1,548 total cases for the entirety of the fall semester.
The total count of active cases in the University community is 779, of which 761 are students and 18 are faculty and staff.
In addition to the 44 new cases Wednesday, 43 new cases were reported on Tuesday and 58 new cases were reported Monday.
Both first generation and legacy applicant admissions increased this year, with 614 first-generation applicants receiving an offer and 590 legacy applicants.
While the number of tests administered decreased to 10,866 last week from 11,250 two weeks ago, the number of positive cases increased from 101 to 113.
The Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hopes that this event provides space for both community connection and economic investment back into the organizations serving Charlottesville residents.
Dean Roberts said that 42 percent of this year’s applicants opted to submit their application without the traditionally required test scores.
The guide was developed over two years and includes financial and academic information. In addition to sections on financial aid, insurance, and personal finances, the guide includes mentorship opportunities, academic advice and study abroad tips for FGLI students.
Some programs have simply moved information sessions and applications online, while others added additional questions to their application allowing students to elaborate on how COVID-19 has impacted them academically.
