Police release phrases spoken by serial rapist

Charlottesville Police released two phrases last Friday allegedly uttered by the serial rapist to two of his victims. The police got the statements from two of the six women in Charlottesville allegedly victimized by the rapist since 1997, and have released them based on the advice of behavioral profilers, according to Charlottesville Police Capt.

UNC moves to eliminate student debt for neediest

Under a new policy known as the Carolina Covenant, low-income students entering the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill next year will be able to attend college without incurring debt. Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser announced the new policy Wednesday evening during his annual State of the University address. The Carolina Covenant allows students whose families' incomes fall below 150 percent of the poverty level -- roughly $28,000 for a family of four -- to attend UNC virtually for free.

Dining halls see increased traffic, experience delays

Due to increased demand for on-Grounds dining, construction and recent weather conditions, students have faced increased congestion at Newcomb Hall dining facilities. According to dining hall supervisor Hagel "Hamburger" Morris, students have been patient and understanding despite lines that can span the length of the hallway. Sterling residents cope with bus woes

Transportation woes at the newly-built Sterling University Apartments have spurred calls for reform over the past week. Residents of Sterling were forced to combat overcrowded vans that rarely arrived or departed on schedule when attempting to travel to Grounds last week.
