The Cavalier Daily
Serving the University Community Since 1890

Letter from the Editor

From the squeaking of And1's on the new University Hall floor to around the clock television coverage, there is a buzz in the air that could only be the result of one thing -- ACC basketball.

Every fall along with the changing foliage comes the thunderous throw downs and long-range bombs that only Dr. Naismith's beloved game can bring. The Cavalier Daily has tried to capture the sights, sounds and breakdowns of ACC basketball. It is my distinct honor to bring to you HOOPS, the Cavalier Daily's 4th annual ACC Men's basketball Supplement.

This could not be a better season to be an ACC basketball fan as the league is more wide open than it has been in recent memory. With nearly every team relying on new faces, there is no telling who could end up on top.

Included in this group of contending teams are hometown favorites -- the Cavaliers. A roster makeover leaves one very familiar face, Travis Watson. Through the ups and downs of the last three seasons of Virginia basketball Watson has been a stable, dependable force. Be sure to check out Jeremy Williams' article, which provides an inside look at the Watson that many people don't get to encounter, as well as an in-depth look at the senior on the court.

Articles such as these could not have been done without the help of the staff. The Cavalier Daily strives to make this magazine grow every year and this is by no means an easy task. Not only producing writing of the highest quality but a top-notch design is something that could not be done without the hard work and dedication of several people. I would like to thank J.D. Moss and Kathleen Thornton for putting in countless hours behind the scenes.

Also, I would like to take this opprotunity to thank Rich Murray and the Virginia media relations staff. Obvioulsly none of this could be possible without your efforts.

With that said, I hope you have as good a time reading this as I had making it.

Enjoy,

Jonathan Evans
