The 2003 NCAA Women's Soccer Champion North Carolina Tar Heels added to their impressive 27-0-0 season with the presentation of several top awards this week.
The honors, given by SoccerTimes.com and a national voting panel of 17 NCAA Division I coaches, named sophomore forward Lindsay Tarpley as its 2003 National Player of the Year, seniorCat Reddick as its Defender of the Year, forward Heather O'Reilly as its Freshman of the Year and head coachAnson Dorrance as National Coach of the Year.
Six UNC players were named to the Soccer Times All-America Teams, including Tarpley and Reddick, who received first-team honors.
Tarpley led all NCAA Division I players in scoring with 73 points and in assists with 27 in 2003.She was also named National Player of the Year by Soccer America and Soccer Post.
