Cavalier Tennis Teams Defeat Ranked Foes

The Virginia men's and women's tennis teams each defeated their opponents this weekend to improve their winning records on the season.

The Cavalier men competed in Knoxville against the Tennessee Volunteers, winning 4-3 to remain undefeated on the year. Virginia, ranked 28th nationally, defeated their third ranked opponent this season and beat Tennessee for the first time in school history.

The Virginia women's team defeated Marshall, their first win over a ranked opponent this year. The event at the Boar's Head Sports Club was undecided until the final match, when Virginia's Dora Bechliwanis came from behind to defeat the Thundering Herd's Ashley Kroh to seal a 4-3 Cavalier victory.
