Three Cavaliers receive ACC scholarship for grad school

Three Virginia scholar-athletes were honored Tuesday as recipients of the Atlantic Coast Conference's 2004 Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship.

The three Virginia recipients were swimmers Amy Baly and Ian Prichard, and rower Jen Reck.

Each recipient will receive $5,000 to be used for postgraduate education. Recipients are chosen based on their classroom performance and respective sports, as well as their conduct and success in their community.

In addition to the scholarship, Reck was given a Weaver-James-Corrigan Honorary Award which acknowledges the outstanding performance of the recipients at the collegiate level and their intent to participate on a professional or Olympic level.
