Virginia Football Lands 8th Commitment

The Virginia football team got their eighth commitment for the class of 2006 last Friday when offensive lineman B.J. Cabbell committed to the Cavaliers. The 6-5 300 pound Cabbell is the first offensive line commitment for 2006 and joins tight end Joe Torchia and wide receiver Chris Dalton on the offensive side of the ball. Cabbell has excelled at nearby Nelson County High School for the past three years and was an All-Central Virginia first-team player last season as a junior. He also lines up at defensive tackle for the Governors, highlighting his versatility.

Virginia was the first school to offer Cabbell a scholarship although Maryland, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, South Carolina, and Connecticut were also recruiting him.
