The Jan. 22 News article "Profs. help reduced tuition bill avoid subcommittee defeat" stated that legislation to reduce tuition for children of faculty and staff was drafted by the University's Faculty Senate. In fact, the legislation was drafted by the Faculty Senate of Virginia, a statewide organization of faculty. Jeffrey Rossman was erroneously identified as the vice president of the Faculty Senate; rather, he is vice president of the Faculty Senate of Virginia.
Further, the article stated that University Faculty Senate Chair Ken Schwartz "worried that the lack of a tuition benefit prevents the University from attracting prominent faculty members in a marketplace where so many competing universities do" and Schwartz "argued that the revenues generated by successful faculty recruitment would make up for the cost of the discount." Those statements were attributed to Schwartz by error. The Cavalier Daily regrets the errors. The Web version of the article has been changed to reflect this correction.
