Singletary to remain with Cavaliers for senior year

Senior guard Sean Singletary announced this week that he will return for a final season with the Cavaliers' men's basketball team after withdrawing from consideration for the NBA draft.

"I believe this decision is the best one for me," Singletary stated in a press release. "I look forward to returning to Virginia for my final year, continuing my education and playing another season with my teammates."

Singletary's performance on the court helped to launch the Cavaliers' to the top of the ACC last season, leading the team to its first NCAA Tournament victory in ten years and landing him a spot as one of the top players in the conference.

Monday marked the deadline to withdraw from the draft, which will take place June 28.

In the release Virginia coach Dave Leitao said he was "delighted" Singletary will be returning, and remarked that the draft process "served its intended purpose and has been a valuable experience for Sean."
