Hokies upset No. 7 Cavaliers in Blacksburg last night

The No. 7 Virginia women’s soccer team lost its first ACC game last night to Virginia Tech 1-0 in Blacksburg, Va.
The game was scoreless going into halftime even though the Cavaliers outshot the Hokies 7-2 in the first half. Virginia Tech scored the only goal of the game just three minutes into the second half in the 48th minute when junior forward Julian Johnson knocked one in for the Hokies.
The Cavaliers got close to knotting the score at one-all in the 72nd minute but senior midfielder Nikki Krzyik’s header found the crossbar instead of the back of the net.
