After reading the article "Gleefully ignorant" (Oct. 13), I was disappointed in the author. I love the show Glee, and in no way, shape, or form does it interpret "stereotypes that burden." I think the author of the article is having trouble overlooking race. Not once did she mention how the gay student Kurt is battling telling his father he is gay, and how great it was that his father accepted it, he just wanted to hear it directly from his son. Not once does she mention how they are dealing with teen pregnancy which seems to be a plague, unhappy marriages, and drug abuse. The author really needs to stop doting on the negatives of the show and come to terms that it is great entertainment. She needs to learn to laugh a little more easily.
