Virginia faces Ohio State in ACC/Big Ten Challenge

The Virginia women's basketball team travels to Columbus, Ohio tonight to play No. 6 Ohio State as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

The Cavaliers (4-3) will face their fourth consecutive ranked opponent in the Buckeyes (5-0), who are coming off last Sunday's 88-69 home victory against UNC-Wilmington. Against the first three ranked opponents during this stretch, Virginia went 1-2.

One of those wins came last Saturday, when Virginia ended the 2010 Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands with a 59-55 win against then-No. 21 TCU. Prior to that victory, the Cavaliers fell to then-No. 17 Iowa State and No. 10 West Virginia.

The Cavaliers will look to junior forward Chelsea Shine - who averages 9.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game - to lead the team's upset bid.

The Buckeyes, meanwhile, will look to two-time Big Ten Player of the Year, senior center Jantel Lavender. She leads the team with 25.0 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
