Wilsdorf Hall catches fire

Charlottesville fire department reports no injuries, fire contained

Charlottesville firefighters answered a call around 11 p.m. Tuesday after a fire broke out on the third floor of Wilsdorf Hall.

The sprinkler system of the Engineering School building contained the blaze, the fire department said via Twitter.


McCormick Road was closed for part of the night, and the building was evacuated while it was ventilated. There are no injuries reported at this time, the department tweeted.


A fireman at the scene said they have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
