The first crop of hopeful members of the Class of 2018 have applied to the University, with 14,309 students submitting by the Nov. 1 early action deadline. This marks the third year that the University has offered early action admission for potential applicants.
This year’s submissions are an uptick from last year’s early applicant pool of 13,815.
Dean of Admissions Gregory Roberts said the exact number may change, as some students were granted an extended deadline, some may have submitted early decision to another university, and some reported issues applying to universities using the Common App. Regardless, Roberts said the University is expected to have a record number of early applications.
“We’re excited that so many students are interested in the University,” Roberts said. “We’ll spend the next 2.5 months [reviewing applications] to make decisions by mid-to late January.”
