Episode two, ‘Beauty and the Drake’

This week, “The Pitch List” is taking on two of the most important pop-culture phenomena of the month — Drake’s newest playlist and the live-action remake of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Episode two begins with the podcast’s permanent segment on what Arts and Entertainment staffers have been watching or listening to this past week. A&E editors Ben Hitchcock and Dan Goff as well as A&E senior associate editors Darby Delaney and Thomas Roades join host and A&E senior associate editor Sam Henson for this roundtable.

Then, “The Pitch List” takes on Drake’s new playlist “More Life.” A&E senior writers Anne Dussel and Adam Beddawi discuss what exactly is a playlist, Drake’s soft raps and whether or not this is an improvement from “Views.”

Finally. the episode ends with commentary on the 2017 live-action remake of “Beauty and the Beast.” A&E senior writer Flo Overfelt and A&E staff writer Jackie Leary sit down to discuss if the remake was necessary and if Emma Watson’s singing is memorable.
