Logan Leemis, a rising fourth-year student in the McIntire School of Commerce, passed away last Wednesday, Dean of Students Allen Groves announced in a community-wide email Monday.
Leemis was described by his family as having “a kind and compassionate heart” — someone who “enjoyed bringing music to others” through his eight years as an accomplished fifer in the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums Corps. During his time at the University, Leemis was a volunteer with Madison House, in addition to his work as a catering associate with U.Va. Dining.
He was also dedicated to his studies at McIntire and was involved with the Advertising and Marketing Association, the Consulting Group at McIntire and the Sales and Trading Group at McIntire — three CIOs that focus on in-depth study of specific sides of the business world.
Groves’ email notes that McIntire staff remember Leemis as “a very smart and dedicated student who held executive positions in all the clubs in which he participated.”
In his hometown of Williamsburg, Leemis attended Williamsburg Christian Academy and Providence Classical School, and volunteered at the local animal shelter.
Leemis is survived by his parents, Larry and Jill Leemis, his two siblings Lindsey and Mark, and his extended family and friends.
