The Virginia men and women’s track and field teams travelled to Blacksburg, Va. this weekend to run in the Virginia Tech Invitational — the first meet of the 2020 season. The men’s team had five athletes take the podium and the women’s team had three over the two-day meet.

The Virginia men’s cross country team headed to Terre Haute, Ind., to run in the NCAA Men’s Cross Country Championships Saturday at Indiana State’s LaVern Gibson Cross Country Championship Course. The Cavaliers finished 20th out of 31 teams in the championship, marking the 12th top-20 finish in the program’s history.

The No. 16 Virginia men’s cross country team traveled to Madison for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Friday and finished with a score of 492 points to place 18th overall out of the 36 teams at the meet. No. 1 Northern Arizona took first place with 59 points followed by No. 5 Stanford with 133 points and No. 28 Tulsa with 175 points.

The Virginia cross country team competed in its second straight home meet Friday — the annual Panorama Farms Invitational in Earlysville, Va. Both the men’s and women’s teams were featured, running the 8K and 6K races, respectively.
