The University’s Judicial Review Board Chair Martha Ballenger explained the appeals process to members of the University Judiciary Committee at the group’s weekly meeting Sunday evening. Ballenger, the assistant dean for student affairs at the Law School, explained that the board is responsible for taking appeals from both the committee and the Sexual Misconduct Board.

Universities’ endowments decreased nationwide by 0.3 percent from 2011-2012 according to a study released Friday, marking the third time in the last five years average endowments have declined. By contrast, the University’s endowment increased by 0.6 percent in that period, with long-term investments returning 5.1 percent.

An anonymous bomb threat was called in to Monticello High School at 8:15 a.m. Monday. Albemarle County Police do not have any information about a suspect, but students were given the all-clear to reenter the building by 11:45 a.m. Officials did not find a bomb in the school.

University Dining employee Matthew Beaulieu, 26, had just finished serving a driver’s license restriction for marijuana possession in early September when he attempted to abduct a female University student Thursday evening, according to Charlottesville, Albemarle and Fluvanna General Court records. He has since been charged with intent to defile, a class two felony.
