It’s no secret growing up is often confusing and frustrating, but what better way to spend those awkward years between Barney and Desperate Housewives than with our dear friends Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel), Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) and, of course, Mr. Feeny (William Daniels)?

I'm not going to lie, when I realized it was time to get off my couch and run to watch the Spectrum Theatre's fifth annual production of The Vagina Monologues Friday, I was not happy. My friend and I complained the entire way to the Chemistry Building about how awkward it would be - and at first it seemed our fears were warranted as our discomfort continued through the opening minutes of the production.

As an avid Star Wars fan, I will always desperately want to love The Phantom Menace. Unfortunately, the Rolling Stones said it best: "You Can't Always Get What You Want." With the re-release of Episode I in 3-D, George Lucas' 1999 movie is back on our screens and is making the entire sci-fi community cringe yet again.

New Internet sensations circulate cyberspace everyday, but YouTube personality Jenna Marbles is different. Think of pretty much anything you've ever found funny about daily life, and Jenna has a YouTube video mocking it. In short, I'm obsessed with Jenna, and I'm not alone. Her Feb. 1 video "What Girls Do in the Morning" had more than four million views its first week - now that's what you call going viral.

With the hit reality show Toddlers & Tiaras, TLC has taken a small segment of society and placed it in the spotlight for all to see. This time, instead of hoarders or extreme couponers, the focus is on a decidedly more innocent group: little girls. Likened to human "baby dolls," these young girls compete in beauty pageants throughout the United States, bringing the nation a new form of drama.

Time magazine rightly included Pinterest.com in its "50 Best Websites of 2011" column. I would also cast it under the "50 Best Procrastination Devices of 2011." With its unlimited supply of intriguing ideas, Pinterest can keep someone, specifically me, occupied for hours. First created in December 2009, Pinterest.com gained popularity in August of last year and currently receives around 11 million total visits a week, leaving many wondering what drives the site's appeal.

Whether rocking out in the car, working out in the gym or dancing your socks off at the club, Rihanna is your girl. After six albums in seven years - two in the past year alone - one might expect an artist to lose steam. Rihanna, however, still seduces with her strong vocals, deep lyrics and solid club beats. According to People magazine, Talk That Talk, the Barbadian star's new album, is "one of 2011's best pop-diva statements." People's assessment of her latest record is right on track.

After six strong seasons of Fox's crime drama Bones, the seventh season, which premiered Nov. 3, found the show at a crossroads. "Bones" is the nickname of protagonist Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), a world-renowned forensic anthropologist who solves murders alongside her FBI partner, Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). The show has captivated viewers since 2005 with its astounding ability to turn medical jargon and lab geeks into comedy. Set in Washington, D.C. at the Jeffersonian Institute, a fictional government institution, Bones and Booth work alongside a brilliant team including a craniofacial specialist, an entomologist and a psychologist to solve the most intriguing crimes.

The greatly anticipated season three premiere of Glee started with a different tone than past seasons. The Fox series, which portrays the daily lives of teenagers who sing their hearts out in the midst of their high school hallways, has become more then a TV series; it has become an entertainment enterprise. The show has won six Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards and six Teen Choice Awards. Cast members have been spread across the covers of a multitude of magazines. And last summer, the "Glee Live! In Concert!" tour took both national and international venues by storm. The positive response to the concert was overwhelming, and it even spawned its own 3-D concert movie.

After the last installment of the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, put a spell on the world, the fans cried for more and J.K. Rowling couldn't resist. As the last film hit theaters, Rowling was planning her grand unveiling of a new look into the beloved Wizarding World

DID YOU know that this year is an election year? Last fall, Grounds were ablaze with the political pulse surrounding the U.S. senate race and the Marriage Amendment proposal. Both publicly around Grounds and privately in casual conversation, students from all political persuasions debated the issues at stake. Students recognized the election as an opportunity not only to take action about issues they cared about, but also to make our mark on Virginia politics as a University community. The Marriage Amendment in particular sparked political passion in students, both to vote in the election and to raise awareness about the issues being debated.
