Possible large-scale wind power plant in Virginia stirs controversy

Charlottesville-based company Apex Clean Energy constructed two test towers in Botetourt County to explore the possibly of a large-scale wind power plant in the area. The test towers will gather information about wind in the area, and be used to determine whether Apex will install 25 wind turbines on private property that has been procured for the plant.


Over 750 University students signed the HoosGotYourBack pledge on Friday, up from 702 in 2014.

​#HoosGotYourBack pledges increase from last year

More than 750 University students lined up at the south end of the Lawn Friday to sign the Hoos Got Your Back pledge, a personal commitment to be active in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence. This is the second year for the pledge — 702 students joined the cause last year.

Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond.
