During preseason, Virginia baseball coach Brian O'Connor anticipated that, with such a young team this year, he would have to wait until around game 35 or 40 to tell what this team can really achieve. After Virginia lost games 31 to 33 over the weekend to Florida State, and game 30 to Towson before that, I don't know about O'Connor, but I remain clueless.

Youthful squad to return for fall

Virginia wrestling fans can anticipate great things during upcoming seasons from an already impressive young squad. At the center of the Cavaliers' youth movement is freshman Chris Henrich, who was recently named 2008 ACC Freshman of the Year. "I think its been an awesome honor, especially with the recruiting classes that have been brought into the ACC this year," Henrich said.

Track teams hold meet with Tigers

The inaugural Virginia-Missouri Jefferson Dual came down to the wire for both Virginia track teams Saturday, as the women's team edged out Missouri 103-99 and the men's squad narrowly lost 97-105. Junior Lars Mikalauskas will undergo surgery on his left shoulder today and will not return to full-contact basketball for five months, according to an athletic department statement.
