Less than a week from today, this year's football season will come to an end. But the most devastated person in the country will not be wearing a cheese-head or a foam finger -- that person will be the editor of People magazine. It seems like this season the NFL has been one part ESPN and one part TMZ.

Wrestling splits ACC meets

The Virginia wrestling team split its dual meets this past weekend, defeating North Carolina Friday in Charlottesville and losing to Virginia Tech Sunday in Richmond. The Cavaliers took their dual-meet win streak to four Friday when they beat North Carolina 18-13.

Wright can do no wrongin second year for Cavs

As Hall of Fame basketball coach Al McGuire said, "The best thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores." The same can be said for Virginia sophomore guard Monica Wright, who has followed up her dazzling freshman campaign with an even better encore performance. The Cavaliers (15-5, 4-1 ACC) have won nine of their last 10 and look poised to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2004-05 season.
