All bets are on

Normally, I'm not a gambler. My family plays poker for M&M's instead of cash, so the game's more about the willpower to avoid eating your winnings than about luck or strategy.

The Virginia men's cross country team was running their cool down jog at the Great American Cross Country Festival Friday when the meet results were announced over the loudspeaker. "Finishing fifth, with 146 points, Virginia," the announcer said. A yell from the pack of seven runners burst out.

Defense wins championships

Matt Schaub might have been the pregame center of attention, but some unlikely characters stole the show to make Schaub's return a victorious one. Sure, Schaub started out strong with 200 first-half passing yards.
