Team looks to finish season on high note

Spring Break will be anything but restful for the Virginia men's basketball team -- the Cavaliers will play four ACC teams in nine days to finish the regular season. The Cavaliers (13-12, 3-9 ACC) enter the month of March with their first multi-game winning streak in conference play, two games, after a convincing 78-60 home win against N.C.

Fitzgerald no longer enrolled at Virginia

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported yesterday that sophomore defensive end Jeffrey Fitzgerald is no longer enrolled at the University because of an academic issue. Rumors have been swirling about Fitzgerald's future since The Daily Progress reported Jan.

Virginia takes on Coppin State, Old Dominion after quick start

After a successful opening weekend against Lehigh, the Virginia baseball team (4-0) will play seven games in eight days, beginning with Coppin State Tuesday and Old Dominion Wednesday. Coppin State (0-0) expected to come to town with at least two games under its belt, but its scheduled contests with Hofstra were rained out.

After snapping a seven-game losing streak in its win against Boston College Feb. 17, the Virginia men's basketball team collected its second straight win, and its first victory at home since Jan.

For most of this season, as depressing as the Virginia basketball team's performance has been, there was always a lively student section to cheer me up.
