While the Cavaliers struggled to take down North Carolina on the hardwood, Virginia fared far better on the mat, as the wrestling team scored a pair of victories over schools from the Tar Heel state.

Virginia falls to Clemson

The Virginia women's basketball team lost, 60-56, in Clemson, S.C. Sunday. Playing their second ACC game of the weekend, the Cavaliers started the game with a strong 12-2 run, fueled by four three-point baskets from freshman Brenna McGuire.

Cavs have doubleheader weekend

Coming off a huge win over N.C. State, the Virginia swimming and diving teams will face a double whammy this weekend when they compete against Duke tomorrow and then against North Carolina Sunday. The women's team enters the weekend ranked 17th and is looking to build off of a strong performance against N.C.

Smith delivers despite nagging pain

It's just after his third game in only six days and Devin Smith is in pain. His sore lower back has been bothering him all year and after a trio of physical ACC matchups, he is feeling it more than usual. "Right now, it feels bad," Smith said.

It is common knowledge around Grounds that the men's lacrosse team won the NCAA National Championship last spring, but it may be a surprise to many Virginia athletic supporters that the lacrosse team was not the only group to reach the national finals.
