Although the Cavaliers had the privilege of hosting the event, each team came away feeling like it could do better.

The Cavaliers placed third out of 15 teams in the women’s event and sixth out of 15 teams in the men’s event.
Out of 18 teams for women, the Cavaliers won first overall.
Out of the 19 teams for women and 15 teams for men, both Cavalier teams placed first overall.
With several top-tier athletes returning to the program and talented incoming recruiting classes, the Cavaliers should be able to compete at a high level.
The Cavaliers earned various accomplishments and accolades, the greatest of which came from sophomore thrower Claudio Romero, who won an NCAA Championship in the discus throw event.
Virginia broke multiple school records in Philadelphia after a successful showing for both track and field.
Cavalier athletes set multiple records for themselves, the school, and the relays in a successful meet for the program.
The Cavaliers excelled both on the track and in the throwing and jumping areas, setting numerous personal bests and achieving a program record in the process.
Despite only the field portion of the team competing — which includes pole vault and most throwing events — the Cavaliers were able to win the women's event and finish eighth on the men's side.
Virginia assured that their efforts were well worth the trip by racking up a barrage of impressive times on their way to an array of strong results.
A busy Saturday for the Cavaliers came to a close with several personal records and first place finishes to show for, both on the track and in the field.
While not as strong in numbers as several other schools at the event, the Cavaliers returned to Charlottesville, Va. with a successful showing.
The Cavaliers started the outdoor cross country season off strong, but underperformed against highly competitive teams at the Joe Piane/Notre Dame Invitational.
The cross country teams built on the success from their first meet of the season.
Virginia placed first among six schools competing this weekend.
Similar to the men, the women hope for a strong showing among their ACC foes to catapult them into regionals and the NCAA Championship.
Virginia has dominated in outdoor events this year, which all led to four incredible days at the NCAA Championship.
