'Malibu' viewers left 'Want'ing substance

"Malibu's Most Wanted" doesn't really deserve an entire review devoted to it, so if you want the short version of this article, read the next sentence and skip the rest: The movie is okay for what it's supposed to be. Isn't that the ultimate cinematic sin, though?

'Willard': A rendez-vous with the rat pack

I went into "Willard" expecting a bite-sized, somewhat stale chunk of cheese. I am a card-carrying Crispin Glover fanatic and will sit through just about anything to savor one of his idiosyncratic performances, and I expected nothing more than some kooky Crispin action from this film.

Double the darkness, double the power

Peter Jackson and company have done it again. God bless the heart of whatever normally heartless New Line executive that made the brilliant decision to green-light the production of all three

Since the King announced his impending retirement, "Everything's Eventual" has gained a newfound significance -- it's probably the last collection of his short stories that ever will be published. But this doesn't change the fact that the work isn't one of Stephen King's best collections.
