On November 17, 2014 at the Virginia-1 (VA-1) Tourism Summit in Reston, Governor Terry McAuliffe announced the creation of the LGBT Tourism Task Force as part of an initiative to increase LGBTQ tourism in Virginia. McAuliffe expressed interest in developing Virginia’s tourism sector by exhibiting the state as an LGBTQ-friendly destination.
OrderUp Charlottesville, an online and mobile marketplace which allows individuals to order food from select local restaurants for delivery, expanded its pool of restaurants to include Bodo’s Bagels and Christian’s Pizza this past week. This expansion supplements OrderUp’s goal to offer service from a full range of restaurants enjoyed by both Charlottesville locals and students.

The Virginia Tech chapter of Help Save The Next Girl held a candlelight vigil to honor Hannah Graham Wednesday night. The vigil featured speeches from Erica Grant, president of Help Save The Next Girl, and Faculty Advisor Jane Vance.
