After a devastating 26-29 loss against the University of Miami, the Cavaliers still remain behind the pack with a 2-6 record. Facing pressure from outraged alumni commenting on every Virginia-sports-affiliated social media account and despondent students, Coach Tony Elliot finally let it slip — the record is actually part of the ritual sacrifice to the ACC Commissioner James J. Phillips.

When one thinks of Virginia lacrosse, the first name that comes to mind is Julie Myers. She led the Cavalier women’s lacrosse team for the past 28 seasons and never once failed to qualify for postseason play — a massively impressive achievement. Accounting for Myers’ years as a player and assistant coach, she had been with Virginia for 37 years. Myers is synonymous with winning — and therefore, so were the Cavaliers. So after Meyer announced her departure from athletics, a giant hole opened at the University.

Even by the standards of the storied football programs of Harvard and Virginia, Oct. 11, 1947, was a colossal day in collegiate football. 76 years ago, Harvard tackle Chester Pierce became the first Black college football player to face an all-white school below the Mason-Dixon line when he traveled to Charlottesville to compete against the Cavaliers. One thing no one prepared me for in my adult life is how difficult it truly is to plan what I’m going to eat. Salad jar meal prep has become my go-to school and work lunch that I can count on to be quick and easy — and taste good enough to eat day after day. With endless customization and relatively efficient preparation, salad jars are my new favorite way to meal prep each week. Whether you’re trying to eat more greens or just looking to add some lunchtime excitement to your week, I highly recommend giving salad jars a try.

This vegetarian chili recipe is a great option for any college student tackling a particularly chaotic schedule this semester.
