After almost two weeks of idle time, the Virginia women’s soccer team is ready to get back on the field.
Having just finished the regular season with a win against Louisville, the fifth-seeded Cavaliers came into the ACC Championships confident in their ability but weary of their competition since they travelled to Chapel Hill to take on fourth-seeded North Carolina.

A major key to this team this season has been its infusion of youth. Virginia (8-2-1, 1-1-1 ACC) is an extremely young squad with a number of freshman phenoms who have stepped in and given this team a boost.
In a tumultuous game spoiled by two lightning delays, No. 2 Virginia and No. 3 Florida State played to a 1-1 tie before officials had to call the game due to weather.
The Cavaliers (8-2-0, 1-1-0 ACC) suffered a disappointing loss to the Hurricanes (6-4-0, 1-1-0 ACC) by a score of 2-1.
