The Virginia men's soccer team looks to end the regular season with a win tonight against ACC rival Maryland. The match begins at 7 p.m. at Klockner Stadium.
The No. 10 Cavs blanked Providence 2-0 Sunday, their first shutout since Sept. 20 against Virginia Commonwealth. But Cavalier coach George Gelnovatch said he felt his squad (12-4-1, 4-1 ACC) could have won by at least four or five goals.
"Not to take anything away from [the Friars], but we cleared a lot of good chances today and just weren't able to put some of them away," Gelnovatch said. "But I am happy with a shutout, and I'm happy with winning 2-0."
Terrapin coach Sasho Cirovski said he recognizes and respects Virginia's offensive talent.
"Kyle Martino around the goal, guys like [Ryan] Gibbs and [Sheldon] Barnes and [Ryan] Trout - I think those are some very gifted players, and they certainly are clicking now," Cirovski said.
