Nutty recall
Students spooning out pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream is as common a sight at the University as squirrels scurrying across Grounds.
But, because the company may have accidentally put tree nuts in its Peanut Butter Cup flavor, Ben & Jerry's is in the midst of a massive recall.
Tree nuts, according to benjerry.com, can cause severe allergic reactions in people who have food allergies to these nuts.

The recall only affects the Peanut Butter Cup flavor.
Only pints with expiration dates before Oct. 26, 2001 might have tree nuts. Anything after that date is safe, reported benjerry.com.
ARAmark, the dining service that controls all University food services, is also facilitating the recall.
"If a customer were concerned, we'd do a recall" of ice cream pints and ARAmark would give a full refund, said Assistant Manager of Pavilion XI Jim Best.
"But we'd like to see some proof of purchase," he added. The students would also have to fill out a food safety form detailing the symptoms of their illnesses.
So far, the Pav has received no complaints or requests for a recall, Best said.
Ben & Jerry's also has initiated a recall of its own volition. If people have any concerns, they can call the company's hotline at 1-800-637-7691. The hotline gives an address where students can send the bottoms of the ice cream pints in order to receive refunds.
