The Virginia swimming and diving team will travel to Columbia, S.C., on Saturday to square off against South Carolina at noon.
The meet will be significant for the No. 10 men's squad (6-1), which will battle the No. 9 Gamecocks (6-2).
"South Carolina is a really important meet for us because we're trying to break into the national top 10," sophomore Ian Prichard said. "That is going to be a huge meet for us."
The men will be led by sophomore all-American Luke Anderson, ACC swimmer of the week last week. Anderson won a pair of individual events and swam legs on two winning relays.
The men are coming off lopsided victories against Duke and North Carolina last weekend, winning 111-80 over the Blue Devils and 189-111 over the Tar Heels. The Cavaliers' wins left them as the only undefeated team in ACC competition.
South Carolina is led by senior two-time all-American Zsolt Gaspar and a core of other strong sprinters, according to Prichard.
The No. 14 women's team (7-0) will look to continue its undefeated season against the Gamecocks (6-2).
"Every single meet is a stepping stone towards ACCs," junior all-American Cara Lane said. "Each one shows us where we are and where we need to be."
Since recovering from an injury, which sidelined her for the first six weeks of the season, Lane has dominated the pool.
She was named ACC swimmer of the week for the second straight week after winning three events in a close win against North Carolina. Nevertheless, she said that she feels that she is not yet to the point where she could be.
"I wish I was doing the times I was at this point last year," Lane said. "But I have the team to help support me as I get back to 100 percent."
After beating Duke, 112-105, the Cavaliers edged North Carolina, 156-144, in a meet that came down to the final relay event.
After South Carolina, the Cavaliers travel to Pittsburgh the following Saturday.
