Grambling Coach showsinterest in Clarett

Grambling State coach Doug Williams stated that while he has not discussed accepting troubled Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett as a transfer, he would still welcome him with open arms.

Ohio State believes that the NCAA will punish Clarett with a 12-game suspension for various infractions. If Clarett were to transfer to Division I-AA Grambling, he would have to serve the suspension, enroll in school, and maintain his playing eligibility. Clarett would need to be released from his scholarship at Ohio State and fulfill Grambling's transfer requirements.

Last season, he rushed for 1,237 yards on 222 carries while scoring 16 touchdowns, while helping lead OSU to the national title and threatening to pursue an jump to the NFL after his freshman year.
